Viral Marketing December 5, 2009

I am currently in my 12th month at Full Sail University and my class this month is Viral Marketing. Our assignment is to find one of the top Viral Video’s from Viral Video Chart and write a response to the video.

The video I choose was, “At My Wedding Twitterring and Facebooking at the Altar.” It’s basically a video that shows a guy who, right after they say the “I Dos’” stops the ceremony to update his Facebook status and Tweet that he is officially Married!

Find out what Dan Tweeted at the Altar!

This video just goes to show that no matter where your family and friends are they can stay connected to you (as long as you want them to :-) ) from anywhere! Having a large family all over the world I can appreciate the different Social Networks that gives me the opportunity to stay in contact with  all of them. Do I think that I would stop my ceremony right before my husband is about to kiss me?

NO! but I do think it is interesting to see where technology is taking us!

New Media Distribution July 22, 2009

I did it!

I finally completed my project in my New Media Distribution Class. The channel I chose was Blogs and the demographics was women going back to college.

Did you know that according to the Current Population Survey conducted by the Census Bureau, the greatest percentage rise in college attendance was by women 30 and over and that there are now 2.3 million women 30 + years attending college?

I also found this great report that has a ton of statistics and numbers for women demographics and blogging. In the report you can find out how many women participate in blogs on a weekly basis, how many women actually publish blogs and how many women read and post comments to blogs.

I am realizing that us women have a lot to say and are not afraid to step into the college realm with the best of them.

I have to tell you that I give mad props to the women who have families and have to travel to their classes. I think that is why Full Sail Online has been such a blessing to me. I get to be one of those 2.3 million women that got back to college for my Bachelors Degree and never have to leave home, can do my class work on my own schedule, meet great people that are my friends now, and still get to be a mom to my children by being home for them when they need me.

Well, I have been up since 5:30 this morning steadily working on this project and now that it is done I can rest.
